Join us on Zoom to hear Heather Tomasek share the details of Belle's Play Garden! A roughly $600,000 playground area is coming to Tom Hanafan River's Edge Park. Belle's Play Garden will sit on a 2,000-square-foot area, with interactive play elements in vibrant colors and patterns that represent the Missouri River and unique topography of the bluffs. This project is part of the Go Play initiative co-founded by the Knudtson-Tomasek and Davidson families, according to organizers. Dusty Davidson and Rick Knudtson are the co-founders of Flywheel, a Nebraska tech startup, and the families have teamed to commit $200,000 to the project. The Back to the River organization will contribute $100,000, with Iowa West matching those funds with $300,000. Marlina and Dusty Davidson were born and raised in Council Bluffs, and Tomasek formerly worked for the City of Council Bluffs' Parks and Recreation Department managing the landscape architecture for Phase II of River's Edge Park. |

Jessica has been an Account Executive at Angels Care Home Health in Council Bluffs since May 2019 (with previous experience in memory care, hospital environment and senior living). She travels around Cass, Harrison, Mills and Pottawatomie counties talking and educating others about resources in their area. With my position, she has the opportunity to be a community educator on preventive health, the social butterfly in the community to tell people about their homebound home health options, and also to be a resource in the community on Angels services.
Angels Care Home Health services include many skilled nursing cares as well as education on many physical and mental disease processes like their Behavioral Health program, Anxiety/Depression program and Alzheimer's/Dementia program.
Jessica is a Council Bluffs native and graduate of Lewis Central High School. She holds a Bachelor's Degree in Health Care Administration and Policy with a minor in Sociology from Creighton University.
Jessica is an active volunteer for the Alzheimer's Association at the local level as a certified Community Educator, Current 2021 Council Bluffs Walk to End Alzheimer's Chair and Advisory Council Member. Her personal and professional dementia connection fuels her passion to educate our local area about dementia resources and take action herself as a educator on this important topic.
